Urban Decay Naked Basics palette review

If you don't have any Urban Decay eye shadow palettes and want to try some of their shadows, the Naked Basics palette is probably a good place to start as it is fairly reasonably priced and has a good selection of matte, neutral, everyday colours.

You will definitely get your moneys worth if like me, you like a 'basic' eye makeup look day to day… the colours are easy to work with and blend well, they are also all fantastically pigmented so you don't need a lot of product.

The packaging of this palette is really sleek and feels lovely (soft rubbery texture!). The huge mirror is also a big bonus and is very handy for travelling. The palette is really compact so can easily fit in your makeup bag. As you can see from the picture below it is quite a bit smaller than the Naked 3 palette…

The basics palette also retails for a lot cheaper than the Naked 3 palette at £22 rather than £37.  It is therefore a great cheaper alternative which can make a really good birthday or christmas present, and can provide a good sample of Urban Decay eye shadows to a new-be.

As you can see this palette has a good selection of lighter shades for highlighting and warmer shades for creating a smokier look if that's what you prefer. The only downside to this palette is that as this is a matte palette it does lack shimmery shades, which I sometimes like to use on a daily basis.

All in all I think this palette would make a great gift for someone who is interested in makeup or someone who just wants to try some Urban Decay products without spending a fortune! As the colours are so wearable and neutral you can't really go wrong.

Hope you enjoyed! :)
