As promised here is the eye makeup look I created last week when I got all dressed up for my boyfriend's work dinner. I have also written a post showing you the face makeup I was wearing if you want to check that out click here. This was the finished look...
As the event was formal and in the evening I wanted quite a smokey dramatic look but nothing too dark. Initially I applied Urban Decay's primer potion allover both eyelids to prime and prep the area. This product is also fantastic at making your eye shadow last throughout the day/night.
Primer potion and Naked 3 palette.
I used the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette to create the eyeshadow look which you can see in more detail below… if you would like to see a full review on the Naked 3 palette that I have previously posted click here.
After applying a base I started with a wash of the colour Strange allover the eyelids. I then applied slightly darker shades such as Dust, Burnout and Buzz, blending them with a fluffy eye shadow brush.
To give the look more of a smokey effect I then began to add darker colours such as Liar, Factory and Mugshot just to the outer corner of the eye. I then continued to blend these colours into the crease of the eye again with a fluffy eye shadow brush.
This picture gives you a better idea of how the colours were blended together...
After my eye shadow was complete I used the Loreal Paris Super Liner Carbon Gloss in Black to line my upper lash line as you can see above. This eye liner is great if you find it difficult to apply eyeliner and it lasts really well on the eyes.
I then applied a coating of Soap and Glory's Thick and Fast Mascara which is great for creating volume and lengthening your lashes.
This is a closeup of the final eye look with everything applied...
And below is a photo of the finished makeup and hair before I was dressed!
Hope you enjoyed this get ready with me style post… if you would like a more in depth review of any of the products mentioned or a post on what hair products I used please let me know :)
